Maryland Fun Blog!

So sorry I did not add any events for this past weekend. We had a busy week and I just did not get a chance to update the site. The good news is there are some fabulous Autumn events to tell you about in the very near future and today I am getting a jump start to add them to the blog.

If you want to stay local and hang out in Baltimore, you can have loads of fun while pub crawling through Fells Point on Oct. 4th and 5th. This year's Fells Point Fun Festival should be better than ever. It has over 100 arts and craft vendors, over 40 food vendors and five stages with all types of live entertainment. There is even a family-children's area to keep the kids happy with activities while you grab a beer from the Cat's Eye Pub! Just some friendly advice from a former Fell Point resident(me in my early 20's), go early it starts at 11:00 am, try to get there around 10 something so you can get decent parking, this festival is huge  (and fun), they are expecting a crowd of 700,000 plus! For more information go to http://www.preservationsociety.com/fpff2008generalinformation.html

Next on the agenda, for you low key types, who prefer not to weave through the crowds, the good old Homestead Gardens Fall Fest. Really this goes on every weekend until the end of October, but it's a perfect time to take the kids pictures in a patch of beautiful pumpkins. If you have never been to Homestead Gardens you are in for a treat! This place is a gorgeous garden center! It's located in Davidsonville Anne Arundel County(absolutely stunning area)and has some of the most beautiful displays you'll see. During their fall fest they offer games, pony rides, that kind of thing. They will also have live music from 12-3 pm. Even if you miss the fall fest,I highly recommend you get to Homestead gardens at some point. It will blow your mind at Chirstmas time!Just wait for my Nov-Dec blog!

If you are in the mood for a crisp autumn day trip, I have the spot for you! I know this is my Central Maryland blog but just a short hike northwards and you can enjoy a major treat at the National Apple Harvest festival. This festival is so good, they take up two weekends in October! October 4th and 5th, 11th and 12th, you've got to check out this apple fun fest! There are lots of children's activities such as, face painting, a petting zoo,a kids craft corner, pony rides and even more. If you are like me, you'll really enjoy the 300 plus artists exhibiting their handmade gift items. And there is of coarse, ample apple activities, apple syrup making, apple pie eating, apple jellies and so much you'll just have to click on the link below!
