Maryland Fun Blog!

Hurry! Last Minute Idea!
November 29th, 2008 2:15 PM

Tonight Saturday, November 29th try to make it out to Wilson Point Park in Middle River, Maryland for the 6th Annual Parade of Lighted Boats. It starts at about 5:00 pm and there are a few good waterfront restaurants to view the parade from if you can get a reservation, FYI, we tried calling Carson's Creek  last night and they are booked full for the parade. You can also try the Riverwatch and the Wild Duck Cafe, I don't know if they are booked up yet. We will be watching it from the public viewing area at Wilson Point Park, hopefully from 5:15 -5:30 pm.

Weekend Ideas
November 13th, 2008 3:39 PM

Just a few things I wanted to tell you about for this upcoming weekend,

For the bargain hunters: This weekend in Timonium you'll find the Totswap at the Maryland State Fairgrounds. A great place to buy gently used children's items and even new items for a low price. It's free admission and is open to the public Nov 15th (9-5pm) and 16th(10-2pm). Go to

http://totswap.net/pages/Saledatestimestimonium.php for all the details and scoop!

Waterfowl Festival:

If the Totswap is not your thing you may want to get over the Bay Bridge and do a day trip to Easton, Maryland. An adorable Eastern Shore town bursting with charm. This weekend is the 38th annual Waterfowl Festival. Come visit about 300 of the nation's finest wildlife artists, craftsmen and vendors. There will also be decoy auctions, retriever, fly-fishing and stunt dog demonstrations, kid's activities, and evening concerts. You can also enjoy great food. There is an admission charge for this event but parking is free and they are offering a shuttle service. Let's hope this chilly rain will clear out of here to make way for a delightful weekend festival! Check out details at http://www.waterfowlfestival.org/

If you have a festival or church/school holiday bazaar, please let me know. I would be happy to post your event on our blog. This blog now gets almost as many hits as the home page! Email me your event and tap into some free advertising!

I could not find my election ballot and called the Maryland state board of elections and they were very happy to help me. If you do not have your ballot in hand you can still vote! If you do not know where you are supposed to vote, try giving the board a call! You can contact them at 1-800-222-8683.

Also try visiting their website at http://www.elections.state.md.us/index.html
