Ocean City officials said Tuesday that its Boardwalk has been named one of the "Ten Best U.S. Boardwalks" by a popular travel website.

The list was compiled by Sherman's Travel, a site focusing on trip ideas.

"Our boardwalk is a source of pride and heritage," said Mayor Rick Meehan. "It is one of our most popular attractions and we are always pleased to see it recognized. This acknowledgment speaks to the appeal of Ocean City and to the dedication we put forth to provide visitors with the ultimate vacation experience."
